Women at the Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, Hope Place received a full evening of pampering with mini facials, haircuts, and manicures to prepare them for graduation day following. They could pick from 1 to all 3 of the three services offered. The Beyond Project has been partnered with Hope Place since 2016 and recently added this special time to the calendar with the support of the teachers & students from Evergreen Beauty College.
Previously, every 12 weeks volunteers would empower the women with hairstyling, makeup services and nail painting for their graduation day. This pampering evening was added to give the ladies time to relax and be reminded of the value the hold through a spa like experience. Now they receive two days of beauty services!
One of the ladies from Hope Place waited down the hall for the volunteers to share how much these services meant to her and the women there.
This extra day of pampering will be a continuous part of our programs. Your monthly partnership gives us the opportunity to expand these types of services to more women in our community.
