These events support those in need of housing, employment, health services and more. Haircuts are one of the most highly requested services at these events.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Haircuts

Hair Services

Haircuts are requested by most nonprofits that reach out to our organization for support services. When some is coming out of domestic violence, human trafficking, or were put in the foster care system or facing homelessness it is the first request after safety is achieved. Services for braiding, twists, and wigs are not a speciality they are a necessity for someone that cares for their hair in that way. We work to find skilled professionals to meet the exact needs of the individual we are serving.

Makeup Services

Makeup services are provided for at graduations from women's shelter programs, at events for foster girls, for women getting ready for events or fundraisers who are sharing their story and sometimes just because at "Beyond Projects" to inspire women. We also work with professional makeup artists to go in to the nonprofits to teach women workplace appropriate makeup application as well as tutorials for girls who never had support in this area of their life.

Skin Care Services

Skincare is an important part of a daily routine. We support our community with these services through educational classes for youth experiencing homelessness who got to do a Q&A session about how to care for their skin type and they received donated skincare kits. We have done facials for foster girls, single & foster moms to give them self-care support. Along with facial waxing for women who needed some extra grooming. No matter the reason, skincare is an important part of hygiene care.

Wellness Services

Wellness for those impacted by trauma can be life changing. Empowering lives with teaching practices that support in the emotional and physical wellbeing for long term healing is important. We have had those who are specialized in trauma informed yoga teach classes and breathing techniques, done fitness courses to help those learn healthy movement, and done exercises around how to manage stress. As well as having massage therapists at events where we are supporting in emotional wellbeing.

Nail Services

Nails are an aspect of hygiene and self-care services. Women who are coming out of abuse and dire situations are not focused on this. A few things that happen while nails are being cared for; you connect to the person eye to eye, as well as touching their hands which can support in emotional wellbeing, along with the end result of the woman feeling put together when the service is complete.

Education & Mentoring

We have programming to support in career mentoring and life skills topics around beauty & wellness care. We have done career panels for those seeking jobs in our industries to guide and direct them based on what speciality they are working towards. Volunteers have taught skincare, makeup and haircare classes for individuals who may have lacked the knowledge to care for themselves well. Understanding that foster girls or youth facing homelessness may have not had support in these areas of their life among others.

Donated Products

We work with brands and businesses to donate much needed hygiene care of shampoo, conditioners, body wash, deodorant, skincare, makeup, and misc needs that come to our attention. We also receive items for our volunteer lead kits that include; capes, towels, combs, shears, clippers, curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers and sanitation supplies such as barbicide, cleaning sprays, hand sanitizer and more. It is a gift to those we serve to recieve these items to care for themselves.
